Visa joined the Monetary Authority of Singapore's BLOOM initiative and will pilot stablecoin settlement with Nium on weekends and public holidays. Intersecting the Singapore, US and euro-area settlement calendars, all three are open on 244 days of 2026 and at least one is shut on 121 — including a five-day window in February where Washington's Birthday runs into Chinese New Year.

CIB Egypt told the London Stock Exchange it had received preliminary approval to establish a digital bank called yomo, with launch subject to regulatory approval. The press release issued the same morning is headlined "yomo Secures Initial Banking Licence." Egypt has granted exactly one licence to operate a digital bank, and the institution that holds it waited 678 days between the two stages.
